Advertising, analytics and Meta (Facebook/Instagram)

Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It helps us understand whether our ads are working and show our ads to people likely to be interested in selling circuit boards and electronics.

What we collect when you visit When you visit our website, we may record:

the pages you view and when how you reached us, such as a Facebook or Instagram ad, a search engine, another website or a direct visit, including any ad campaign tags in the link (for example "utm" tags or a Facebook click ID) the website that referred you and the first page you landed on
whether you tap one of our phone number links.

This information is stored in your browser. We keep your most recent visit source for up to 30 days and your first visit source for up to 90 days. After that it is discarded.

When you send us an enquiry or mail-order form If you submit a form, we connect the visit information above to your enquiry, so we know which advertising led to it. We keep this with your contact record, including the source that first brought you to us, for as long as we hold your record.

We also send Meta a notice that an enquiry was made. Your name, email address, phone number and location details are hashed (turned into a scrambled code that can't be read) before we send them. Meta uses this hashed information only to match the enquiry to an ad and measure its results. We don't send Meta the contents of your message, prices or details of your items.

Overseas storage Meta may store and process this information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where it operates. Our website and customer records are hosted by service providers who may also store data overseas. We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers protect your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

You can block or clear cookies and stored website data in your browser settings at any time.
